Implementing Locally, Inspiring Globally: Localizing UNSCR 1325  

This report from Global Network of Women Peacebuilders (GNWP) reviews UNSCR 1325 and six follow-on resolutions and focuses on GNWP’s “localization” initiative, a program that translates rhetoric into action in conflict-affected communities in Colombia, Nepal, the Philippines, Sierra Leone and Uganda. The program directly engages local authorities, traditional leaders and grassroots women’s groups in implementing the resolutions in their communities.
